Armidale’s Charlie Fittler exudes talent beyond his years, playing the guitar like a pro and fronting his band like he was born on stage.

Charlie graduated from The Academy in Tamworth in 2018, won the Mount Hunter Country Music Stampede Rising Star Talent Search, placed second at the Ekka’s Country Music Showdown and co-wrote a song with award-winning artist Travis Collins all in the same year.

​

It’s a surprise to many that the 15-year-old has been performing for just over five years. Charlie honed his performance skills at open mic sessions and playing in bars, spreading his brand of country rock and ‘old school country’ near and far.

​

The teenaged singer-songwriter said it was the stories and the range of styles within country that drew him to the genre.

​

This year Charlie is working on recording his originals with award-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist Simon Johnson.
